We are excited to welcome our current SAC Members (ages 16 and over) to come and explore, utilize and enjoy this amazing new facility!

Our 77Fitness Training Center is located about two miles east of the main location. Recommended parking is behind the building on the second level. Find us near the intersection of NW Cornell and Saltzman roads, at:

Current hours at 77Fitness T.C. are Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 8:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am - 7:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

SAC Expansion Provides Intense Training For Serious Athletes

Since 1977, Sunset Athletic Club has been an epicenter of sports and fitness for Cedar Mill, SW Portland and the surrounding neighborhoods. Recognizing our history, the 77 Fitness Training Center creates expanded training options, studios and theaters as well as recreational spaces. This incredible facility focuses on small and large group training, as well as personal training workouts crafted specifically to meet your fitness needs!

Adult members (16+) have access to the many amenities of this facility as a part of their membership, including:

77 Fitness Training Center Programs

Fitness Orientation

Your fitness orientation will get you ready for the best experience in our facility. This one time free session is built to help you become more comfortable with all aspects of the gym. During the orientation your personal trainer will take you through a mix of upper, lower and cardio workouts to insure you are properly informed on what the differences in these workouts are.

Large Group Training

Large group training is focused on making fitness accessible by getting you and the family moving. Groups of up to 20 people led by one of our personal trainers will make sure that you are maintaining a high intensity workout while keeping you safe with proper form.

Personalized Self-Managed Program

With this program one of our personal trainers will write a personalized one month plan for you to achieve your fitness goals. If you are looking for a plan to execute on your own or just need a little guidance but know what you are doing in the gym this is just right for you. Keeping yourself honest and accountable is necessary.

Personal Training

Personal training is a one on one coaching experience that will keep you motivated and guide you towards your goals. Our certified personal trainers will keep you safe while expanding your physical capacity.

If you meet with one our personal trainers twice a month you will also receive a fitness program for you to complete on your own. With the addition of our body metric, we will see how your body changes.

Joshua Brown - Fitness Training Director

Joshua is a motivated trainer who is ready to get you started on whatever fitness training journey you desire. More background about Joshua coming soon.

Wade Davis - Personal Trainer

Wade is a ASFA certified personal trainer. He also holds certification including, Kettle Bell, Suspension Training, and HIIT/Tabata. Wade focuses helping those new to the gym environment as well as seasoned fitness enthusiasts. He believes that mastering mind and muscle control will allow you to execute advance exercises and more safely and effectively.

Nicole Dunkley - Personal Trainer

Dedicated to promoting health and wellness, Nicole enjoys training clients to perform activities (with a focus on form, technique and body mechanics) to meet each person’s unique goals. She is an Oregon State University graduate with a B.S. Cum Laude, in Kinesiology. Nicole’s focus specialties of anatomical Kinesiology, Qualitative Movement Analysis, Behavioral Dimensions of Physical Activity, provide her the skills to guide clients through personalized exercise programs addressing goals, limitations and prior experience.

Amongst additional certifications, Nicole has competed specialty certification in Osteopathic Techniques for Neck Pain and is currently doing the coursework to add Licensed Massage Therapist to her qualifications. Her goal is to guide clients through a personalized program addressing their goals and celebrating commitment and accomplishments.

Jason Mead - Personal Trainer

As a Personal Trainer at Sunset Athletic Club since 2004, Jason has worked with people of all ages and abilities – from youth athletes on local High School ski teams, to people experiencing neurological/movement issues, or adults facing age-related physical and lifestyle changes – Jason has spent his career being a long-term motivator and stable force in assisting his clients to reach higher physical standards.

Rebuilding function from acute or chronic injury, beginning or resuming a healthy lifestyle has been some of the processes Jason has walked through with his clients.

Since graduating in 2001, Jason has worked to fulfill a wide range of people’s needs, incorporating his education in both Exercise and Movement Science and Chemistry (BS, University of Oregon).

Jason has always been a gym rat, using the benefits of physical fitness to further enjoy the real-world applications outside of the gym.

Brandon Molina - Personal Trainer

Bradon has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2021 and has been training others to safely improve their Strength and Conditioning since 2012. He specializes in correctional exercises to build proper foundations for maximum results and growth.

When he’s not exercising, he’s pursuing his career in Theater and Voice Acting so feel free to ask him about his next project!

Brandon’s top priority will always be helping others using the knowledge he’s learned and experienced during his career. Brandon notes, “Your body’s mental, physical and spiritual condition shouldn’t have to be a limiting factor for enjoying your life”.

Dillon Pearse - Personal Trainer

Dillon Pearse is a fitness professional that is committed to help people of all ages and abilities to create healthier habits and build a more sustainable lifestyle. He’s had experience training clients from a range of ages – including youths as young as 12 to athletic 72 year-olds.

Dillon earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Sciences with a specialization of Kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2021. During his final year of under-grad he had an opportunity to complete an internship with the Nevada Football Strength and Conditioning staff.

Following his time at Nevada, Dillon completed an internship at the University of Portland with their Sports Performance staff and had gained experience from 13 different men and women’s sports teams, which included Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Cross Country, Soccer and Volleyball. Dillon began personal training in 2022 with experience including both one-on-one and group sessions.

In his free time, Dillon loves to explore the PNW as he recently moved here from Las Vegas, Nevada. If you find Dillon watching Sports Center at 77 Fitness feel free to sit with him and talk sports.

Dillon specializes in strength and conditioning, sports performance, mobility and flexibility, as well as group exercise. He is a Level 1 Weightlifting Coach issued by USA Weightlifting and CPR/AED certified.

Joni Neilson - Personal Trainer

Joni has been a certified Personal Trainer since 2000. She enjoys helping her clients reach their full potential and giving them the confidence and motivation they need to accomplish their goals.

Joni specializes in weight management, strength conditioning, sports performance and nutrition for athletes and healthy living. Her experience includes time spent as a high school volleyball coach and Water Safety Instructor.

In 2013 Joni was awarded her Pro Card by taking first place at the NPC National Physique competition and is now an IFBB Professional Athlete.

She loves working out with weights, doing cardio and enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking and water skiing. Joni participates in many local races, including Race for the Roses, Hood-to-Coast, Shamrock Run and the Portland Marathon. Catch her if you can!
